AMEC Announces First Virtual Difficult Airway Course
PRESS RELEASE
Airway Management Education Center (AMEC) has introduced The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2020, the first virtual offering of The DifficultAirway Course.
In response to great demand for airway education and the inability for medical professionals to travel and gather for traditional education during the COVID-19 pandemic, AMEC shifted to a virtual format for the first time. “Airway management has never been more important,” says Michael Murphy, MD, co-founder of AMEC. “Our national course directors are uniting to offer an exciting, multi-specialty airway program for all members of the airway team.”
The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2020 will feature short, powerful talks on critical airway topics, essential skills demonstrations, and challenging case discussions with expert multi-specialty panels. The audience will interact with the faculty through polling and frequent Q&A sessions.
Each offering of The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2020 will be held over three days, lasting approximately 4 hours each day. “We’ve designed a program that moves along quickly and keeps the audience engaged with the most critical elements of difficult and failed airway management,” says Terry T. Steele, Executive Director of AMEC. “It’s jam-packed with important lessons for these challenging times.”
Hosted by Ron Walls, MD and Michael Murphy, MD and featuring members of the national faculty, The Difficult Airway Course: Virtual 2020 will be held on October 16–18, 2020 and November 13–15, 2020 beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. Registration and more information are available at www.theairwaysite.com. All medical professionals tasked with airway management are invited to attend this unique and dynamic virtual offering.
