Top Nursing Thought Leader Examines Nurse Bullying and Conflict Resolution in New E-book

AURORA, Colo. -- American Sentinel University's new e-book, 'Dr. Renee Thompson's Series on Nurse Bullying' examines the roots of bullying and conflict resolution as Dr. Thompson shares her professional insight on how to best address and eliminate workplace bullying. The e-book is available here.

"Nurses play a critical role in healthcare, and we teamed with Dr. Renee Thompson, one of the most respected anti-bullying thought leaders in nursing today to produce this important e-book and address two issues of great concern today: nurse bullying and conflict resolution," says Judy Burckhardt, Ph.D., MAEd, MSN, RN, Dean and Professor, Nursing and Healthcare Management Programs at American Sentinel University.

Research found that 60 percent of new nurses quit their first job within the first six months due to the behavior of their co-workers. And nearly 50 percent of nurses believe that they will experience bullying at some time in their careers.

'Dr. Renee Thompson's Series on Nurse Bullying' is a must read for nurses or healthcare professionals who want to learn the origin of bullying, identify common overt bullying weapons and address and eliminate the bullying cycle.

"This e-book was created to help healthcare professionals who are willing to accept the ethical responsibility and play a critical role in swinging the pendulum from 'eating our young' to supporting, nurturing, and growing one another to advance the nursing profession," adds Dr. Burckhardt.

Topics include:

-Why is Bullying So Prevalent in the Nursing Profession?

-Nurse Bullying: Can You Guess Who is "Eating" Whom?

-Common Weapons Nurse Bullies Use Against Their Targets
