Unravelling Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis in a Young Patient: Look Beyond the Valve

Video. An aortogram in the left anterior oblique view showed the ‘hourglass deformity” characteristic, consisting of focal narrowing of the ascending aorta just above the sinuses of Valsalva and suggestive of supravalvular aortic stenosis. The coronary ostia were normal and the aortic regurgitation was due to the in-and-out movement of the pigtail across the aortic valve.
