Drug Packets Recalled for Missing Information

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Inc. is recalling 5136 cartons of sevelamer carbonate for oral suspension because the packets are missing lot numbers and expiration dates, according to the August 14, 2024, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report.

The recall affects sevelamer carbonate for oral suspension 0.8-g packets, packaged in 90-packet boxes (NDC 43598-478-90), from lot T2305999 (Exp. 11/25). The product was made in India and distributed within the United States by Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Inc., Princeton, New Jersey. 

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories voluntarily initiated the recall on June 26, 2024. The FDA designated the recall Class III on August 8, 2024. Per the classification, using the affected packets is not likely to cause harm.

Sevelamer carbonate for oral suspension is a prescription drug indicated for the control of serum phosphorus in adults and children 6 years of age and older with chronic kidney disease on dialysis.
