Allison J. Bloom Paramedicine Leadership Education Foundation Launched

CAMBRIDGE, MD—Cambridge Consulting Group announced April 7, 2022, the launch of the Allison J. Bloom Paramedicine Leadership Education Foundation. The foundation has been established in memory of Allison Bloom, Esq., to provide existing and aspiring EMS leaders with financial support to advance their education in service as executive EMS officers.

The foundation will define specific aspirations, including types and amounts of awards, and accept donations for the purpose of providing funding for individuals seeking to enhance their EMS career by pursuing management education and credentialing, particularly through the NEMSMA EMS Officer Credentialing Program.

A board of directors has been established and will accomplish the goals of overseeing the foundation, pursuing contributions, developing applications processes and awarding educational grants to eligible individuals.

Paramedic agencies, providers and the broader public are encouraged to honor Bloom’s memory by providing financial support through a dedicated website: http://www.ajbloomfoundation.org/donate-here/

Persons interested in applying for scholarship funds should submit their interest in writing to the foundation at: P.O. Box 1086, Cambridge, MD 21613, or via e-mail to Foundation President Christina Benoit, RN, at chrbeno@hotmail.com

During a career of more than 30 years, Bloom served as an EMS attorney, consultant, coach, author and educator. An EMT, she had held the position of EMS chief of service and director of training and personnel with Easton Volunteer EMS in Connecticut. From 2015–2020 Bloom served on the board of directors of the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) and was a fellow in the American College of Paramedic Executives (FACPE).

At the time of her death in December 2021, Bloom served as cofounder and general counsel of Cambridge Consulting Group.

The Mission of the Allison J. Bloom Paramedicine Leadership Education Foundation is to encourage and support EMS leadership development and mentoring efforts, discover and support potential EMS leaders, educate new EMS leaders about the important elements of EMS management, inform them of programs for EMS manager and supervisor education and credentialing, and offer financial support to individuals identified by the foundation through an application process as an EMS provider with high potential to advance their position in EMS to serve as an EMS officer, supervisor, manager, or EMS organization leader.
